For The Year of Perfect Days, our exhibition residency for Sparwasser HQ, Berlin, Instant Coffee will conduct a series of event-based activities. The Instant Coffee sculptural environment will be the platform for a series of events and the stage for a series of exchanges that will take place over the course of the exhibition residency; for example, a stencil cut out party, a slide show, an instant coffee power point lecture, a self dee-jay night.
Specific to our exhibition at Sparwasser HQ, we want to explore the process of bartering, and invite our audience to take away from a collection of our give aways (buttons, sticker, posters, t-shirts), but only if something is left in exchange. Suitable items of exchange might be rainbows, orange cars, childhood pets, office supplies.
We hope that the exhibition will be simultaneously additive and reductive.
